A bentwood ring is the lowest-maintenance piece of jewelry you will ever own. Unlike silver, which tarnishes. Unlike gold, which scratches easily. Wood with a good clearcoat is a material that demands very little.
That said, there are three simple practices that will make your ring last well past its first decade. First, wipe it down after prolonged water exposure with a soft cloth. This is especially important after swimming in chlorinated water or saltwater.
Second, store it in a dry place. When you take your ring off at night, use the small pouch or box we include with every order. Do not leave it on the bathroom sink where humidity can build up over years.
Third, schedule an annual clearcoat touch-up. Our workshop sells care kits that include a small tin of marine-grade polyurethane and a polishing cloth. Apply one thin coat once a year, and your ring will look as good as the day you bought it.
